Destin, Florida was chosen for its clear Emerald Green Waters and White Sandy Beaches, Destin is the ideal location that offers a vibrant community to provide the families of the departed with a gathering place to revisit or even vacation and continue the earlier celebration of life.
Guided by the President’s vision for the Poseidon Reef Project, the selection of a location was influenced by his previous experience in Destin. Consultation with the representative from Okaloosa County’s artificial reef program illuminated the advantages of this location. The existing programs, suitable maritime and coastal environments, the vibrant community with plentiful lodging, world famous beaches and fishing proved to be a superior combination compared to any other Florida possibility. The support provided by the County further substantiated the merit of this pursuit.
