The Story of Ocean Legacies and Who We Are
Destin, Florida was chosen for its clear Emerald Green Waters and White Sandy Beaches, Destin is the ideal location that offers a vibrant community to provide the families of the departed with a gathering place to revisit or even vacation and continue the celebration of their life.
Following our President’s establishment of the Neptune Reef over three miles off the coast of Key Biscayne, he recalled his previous visit to Destin. After connecting with representatives from Okaloosa County’s artificial reef program, it became clear that the combination of programs, waters, beaches, the city environment and ability to see the construction from the beach or hotel room, was unmatched and superior to any other alternatives. The support from the County further validated that this decision was a valuable pursuit.

Before founding Reef Builders, our current President was the visionary and co-creator of what began as “The Atlantis Reef Project,” which later evolved into Neptune Reef. With the establishment of Reef Builders, our mission shifted towards creating a reef that prioritizes habitat over artistic design. After undergoing three complete design iterations, we proudly unveiled the Poseidon Memorial Reef—an ecologically designed, habitat-focused masterpiece.
Poseidon Memorial Reef
The Poseidon Memorial Reef is an innovative underwater memorial designed to honor loved ones while simultaneously contributing to marine ecosystems. Developed by Reef Builders, it focuses on creating a habitat for marine life rather than just serving as an artistic or decorative structure.
The reef consists of environmentally friendly materials that provide a stable environment for coral and marine organisms to thrive. It aims to restore and enhance marine habitats, promote biodiversity, and create a lasting legacy for those memorialized within it. The Poseidon Memorial Reef is not only a tribute to individuals but also a commitment to environmental conservation and the protection of ocean life.
